A love story involving Guilhermina Suggia, who met her husband here, Dr. Carteado Mena. And a story of talent directed by Manoel de Oliveira, who chose the hotel as the setting for his films ‘Amor de Perdição’ ('Ill-Fated Love’) and ‘Cristóvão Colombo, o Enigma’ ('Christopher Columbus, the Enigma’).

The remaining suites, all with an integrated living room area, have a decor similar to the hotel’s guestrooms and are available with a double bed or two single beds.
