Post Covid-19 safety measures

In the Era Covid-19, we are back, with complete safety!

After a period where we were forced to closed doors, the Grande Hotel do Porto reopens its doors to welcome guests once more.

In order to adapt ourselves to these new times, we have adopted several procedures and measures to ensure the necessary precautions to avoid the spreading of the Covid-19.

An internal protocol was made with all actions necessary, the hotel staff received proper training, we have implemented new routines and changed some procedures, furniture and decoration elements in order to allow a safer environment within the hotel without losing track of our mission which is to provide an authentic travelling experience to those who visit us.

  • Pre-check-in available online at our website
  • Room key on your smartphone and traditional keys disinfected after each use
  • Disinfectant doormat at hotel entrances
  • PPE’s for all hotel staff
  • Touchless hand sanitizer dispensers
  • Welcome kit with a disposable mask, hand sanitizer and touch pen
  • Recommended use of a mask on public hotel areas
  • Body temperature measurement at arrival
  • Optional “no room cleaning” policy during the stay
  • WhatsApp line for communication with hotel reception for message delivery, room service requests or other questions
  • Paper journals/magazines replaced by digital editions at PressReader
  • Room sanitizing in 3 steps: ozone disinfection, room sanitizing with disposable cleaning cloths and atomization with disinfectant solution
  • Housekeeping crew divided into two sections – dirt and clean
  • In-room directory and paper documents removed from rooms and available on request. The directory is also available by QR code.
  • Minibar cleaned and disinfected after each use and sealed until a new use
  • Sanitation of public areas and elevators reinforced
  • Goods delivered at the hotel subject to cleaning protocol to assure that no contamination passes to the clean zone of the hotel.
  • Restaurant menus in QR code
  • Limited seating at the restaurant to assure distance between tables
  • Buffet breakfast replaced by à la carte menu
  • Breakfast in the room without service tax
  • At the restaurant, the table is set in the presence of the guest
  • Cleaning and disinfection of tables and chairs after each use
  • Meals by appointment to allow management of room capacity
  • Internal contingency plan for eventual positive cases  

The hotel has the Clean&Safe stamp, given by the Portuguese Tourism to all companies that ensure compliance with hygiene and cleaning requirements for the prevention and control of the COVID-19 virus.

Aware that not only us, but the whole country has mobilized for this issue, we are confident that it is perfectly safe to visit Portugal, Porto and the Grande Hotel! Seen you soon!
