This tittle can be attributed to a love story. When King, Edward VIII, traded the throne of England for the heart of Wallis Simpson, an American with whom he later married.
He visited Grande Hotel do Porto and his stay at the hotel was marked by a lovely dedication in our Visitors’ Book, but unfortunately the page with his signature on has been lost. His visit has become a ‘story’ in the history of our hotel, which older employees passed on to new generations.
The Windsor Bar is a space with classic decor, an elegant atmosphere and a certain dandy style that evokes the personality of the British royals. Our bar is a meeting point for those staying at the hotel, for those who work nearby and for occasional city centre visitants.
